A couple of weeks back Todd and I were dying to get out of Dallas. We love to travel and experience new places and unfortunately, it had been a while since we last had the opportunity to do so. So when South Congress Hotel in Austin invited us to join them for a stay we jumped at the opportunity. We have both been to Austin a handful of times before, but just like any great city, exploring possibilities are endless- especially when it is one of the fastest growing in the nation.
As its name suggests, the hotel is located along south congress street. Also known as, prime real estate. If you are not from the area or have never paid the city a visit, south congress street or “SOCO”, is one of the best areas in Austin to explore. Overflowing with locals and visitors, SOCO is the perfect spot for an outdoor stroll to enjoy some of the city’s best eateries, bars, boutiques, galleries and live music venues.
Although South Congress Hotel is in one of the best areas of town, you could literally go your entire stay without stepping a foot outside. Anything you could possibly need can be found within hotel.
Rooftop pool (my favorite spot to lounge, obviously)
FOOD & DRINK
Cafe no se (instagrammers paradise)
Central standard (perfect for a nightcap)
I thought it’d be fun to share a mini recap of our holiday in case anyone is thinking about heading to Austin anytime soon (SXSW anyone?). I hope if you are considering heading the state’s capitol, this post will help you decide on where to stay. I can assure you that the South Congress Hotel will be nothing short of amazing. Let’s dive in my peoples.
the lobby bar. This happy space greets you shortly after checking in. The pomegranate champagne cocktail is a must.
While out exploring downtown Austin. Kind of embarrassed to say how many times I wore this top during our visit- so I won’t. Lol. Unfortunately, it has since sold out, but you can find an almost identical one here.Checking out busy SOCO through our window. The rooms are something straight out of a magazine. Dreamy.Cafe No Se in the morning should be a requirement. I ordered the cafe scramble and handsome nabbed the ricotta hotcakes. Check out that sensual pour in the background.Every angle of Cafe No Se is picture-worthy. Which is probably why you saw 10,9853 images of it on my Instagram.
Please note the Aesop products on the left- the hotel knows good products! Bravo. The bed was the yummiest. Definitely #ihavethisthingwithfloors worthy.
I hope you enjoyed this mini recap as much as did- I am hoping to do a lot more of these in the future so please let me know your thoughts! a big thank you to south congress hotel for our warm welcome and pleasant stay.
