Let’s do something a little different today. Let’s talk vitamins. Specifically, those that aid in hair, skin, and nail health- areas I’ve been looking to improve upon. I’ve become one of those people who over scrutinizes every little thing- only regarding myself of course (ya right). I suppose the bad habit has materialized after being in front of the camera for so long. Can I be faulted for this one? Don’t think so.
Anyways, instead of sitting on my ass, folding my arms, and pouting about my frivolous “shortcomings”, I decided to take action. After some online research and conversations with those in the relative industries, I decided to add the vitamins below to my everyday morning routine. A quick, easy, and inexpensive solution for my so-called problems. Let’s run through it.
Vitamins for Hair, Skin, and Nail health
Biotin– According to studies, increased doses of Biotin help treat weak hair and nails. Not only that, vitamin B7 Biotin can also help protect skin from acne, rashes, and severe dryness and cracking.
Gelatin Capsules– These capsules are essentially cooked, powdered collagen. Taking gelatin internally provides the body with building blocks to build great skin, hair, and nails from the inside out. Other benefits of Gelatin include weight loss (boosting your metabolism), improves the appearance of cellulite, and helps heal the digestive track.
Fish Oil– This little vitamin nourishes the skin with essential fats and contributes fat soluble vitamins that help skin maintain a smooth, elastic texture. There is also evidence that fish oil prevents wrinkles and works against the aging process. There are many, many additional health benefits to taking fish oil, which I highly recommend looking into. Information can be found here.
Sea buckthorn– Used for centuries in the Eastern Hemisphere, sea buckthorn oil is gaining popularity in the United States due to its many benefits, particularly its potential anti-aging action. This “miracle berry” has profound balancing, soothing and rejuvenating properties. Applying via oil externally, rather than internally, treats acne, dry skin, wounds, sunburns and more.
Are you taking any vitamins that I should add to my list? Let me know!
